Board Game
The game board project is a great way for students to demonstrate an in depth understanding of their books. The game board template is modeled after a monopoly game. They have to come up with property titles related to the settings in their book and create trivia questions related to the text. I have used this project for the past couple of years as a way to review story elements with my students. The kids really enjoy this project and do an amazing job. It is a great way to assess students. It is much more engaging than a traditional book report. I ordered this particular template from a website called unique teaching resources. Well worth the investment!

Author Lapbooks
Lapbooks are a very popular way to demonstrate learning among home school students. There are a number of websites that offer free templates for foldables to use in your lapbooks. I can see this being easily adaptable to a classroom setting. As you work through a unit of instruction students could work on creating a variety of foldables to incorporate into the lapbooks. A really great resource for foldable templates can be found at:
